your personal wine ambassador

Wine is a journey, one that starts and evolves as your taste change. What was once a go to wine may now be a wine you may run away from. Why? Let me explain by telling you a sort story.
Over 20 years ago my wife and I honeymooned in Bermuda, we were young wine drinkers and starting our journey not only in life but our wine journey. Each night we had dinner at the hotel with our personal waiter and wine steward. Our budget determined the wine and we settled on a White Zinfandel. Now, not all white zinfandels are bad or on the low end of the spectrum; however, this one tasted like nothing else at the time.
Now advance a few weeks past honeymoon and at the local grocery store I found the same white zinfandel we enjoyed in Bermuda. Excited at the prospect, the pink liquid in a clear bottle sitting on the bottom shelf called out to me. I was shocked to see this exquisite wine for only $6.99 when we were spending $29.99 on the island. I thought, what a bargain and took home 3 bottles. As we opened the first bottle our thoughts raced back to those evenings in Bermuda. The wine swirled in our glass and the bouquet teased our senses as we took that first sip. As soon as it hit our pallet the wine came right back out the same way it came in just with more velocity. It was disgusting, somehow each bottle was "cooked". That one event turned us to try this wonderful chardonnay someone gave us as a gift. The journey has begun.
Our journey has taken us to Napa, Sonoma, Temecula, Paso Robles and France. Every weekend we toast the days of leisure with a bottle of bubbly. When asked the question what is my favorite wine. I reply with; I’ll let you know when I find it, to call one a favorite is like choosing a favorite chocolate, I only get to choose one!
