Sonoma County is a diverse wine growing region with areas experiencing warm sunny days while other are affected by the cool morning fog from the bay. Vineyards for this Grenache were selected based on their optimal climate and soil combination.

Tasting Notes

A dark purple in the glass.

This 2019 Grenache opens with aromas of boysenberry, blackberry and baking spices.

Full-bodied with layered flavors of warm blueberry pie, ripe raspberry, dark chocolate and notes of cedar. Balanced acidity with silky tannins and a rich finish, this is a truly delicious wine.

Vintage Notes:

Heavy spring rains enriched the soils and delayed bud break by a few weeks. A heat spike in June, followed by warm weather, brought even veraison throughout the vineyards. A cooling trend and touch of rain in mid-September created ideal conditions for the 2019 harvest which is considered a near-perfect vintage. Each block of Grenache was harvested individually by hand at night to preserve the delicate flavors. The fruit was sent directly to press. After fermentation, the wine was aged in 30% new French oak barrels for six months.
