The Deputy

Petite Sirah
SKU: BCPS203H

Sensous soft easy-drinking reds are ripe & fruity, but not tart or tannic. They are thoroughly modern “crowd-pleasers” that do not need food to taste their best, and some are not fully dry.

FOOD PAIRING: These fruity reds can handle sugar and spice better than more classic reds, so they are perfect for ASIAN CUISINE, COMFORT FOODS, BRUNCH DISHES plus casual fare like BURGERS & BBQ.

Description

The story of our founder is as long as it is colorful. One of California's first sheriffs, Agoston Haraszthy was elected the Sheriff of San Diego County in 1850. He built the first jail and served two exciting years before moving north to pursue "purple gold" and the perfect terroir for fine wines. He found it in Sonoma County where he established Buena Vista Winery in 1857.

Our 2020 The Deputy Petite Sirah is a rich dark purple in color.

Effervescent aromas of raspberry, cherry and a touch of oak. Fresh-baked blackberry pie flavors come together with dark chocolate and a hint of ripe strawberry.

The finish is long, lengthy and luxurious with elegant tannins and well-integrated acidity.

Winemaking
Vintage Notes:

Petite Sirah, which is a unique variety hailing from the South of France and typically used as a blending grape, is a dark, intense berry that has strong tannins and dark fruit flavors. It is our founders' legacy that inspired this wine and the work of sheriffs everywhere that we honor with its release. We are proud to bring you this delicious 20I8 The Deputy Petite Sirah - A Boisset Collection exclusive crafted by Jean-Charles and our Buena Vista winemaking team.
