The Deputy

Zinfandel
SKU: BCZN203H

Sensous soft easy-drinking reds are ripe & fruity, but not tart or tannic. They are thoroughly modern “crowd-pleasers” that do not need food to taste their best, and some are not fully dry.

FOOD PAIRING: These fruity reds can handle sugar and spice better than more classic reds, so they are perfect for ASIAN CUISINE, COMFORT FOODS, BRUNCH DISHES plus casual fare like BURGERS & BBQ.

Description

The story of our founder is as long as it is colorful. One of California's first sheriffs, Agoston Haraszthy was elected the Sheriff of San Diego County in 1850. He built the first jail and served two exciting years before moving north to pursue "purple gold" and the perfect terroir for fine wines. He found it in Sonoma County where he established Buena Vista Winery in 1857.

This wine is also available to purchase by the case through our Custom Label Program.

Tasting Notes
Aroma:

The grapes for this wine were carefully selected from prestigious vineyards across California and blended together to develop a complex, fruit-forward wine before being aged in primarily stainless-steel tanks. Vibrant blackberry jam, raspberry and strawberry notes spring from the glass with a touch of sweet spice.

Palate:

Lush flavors of plum and black cherry spread across the palate with white pepper. The finish is long and lingers.

Winemaking
Vintage Notes:

It is our founders’ legacy that inspired this wine and the work of sheriffs everywhere that we honor with its release. We are proud to bring you this delicious 2020 The Deputy Zinfandel – A Boisset Collection exclusive crafted by Jean-Charles and our Buena Vista winemaking team.
