The winery’s colorful founder, The Count of Buena Vista, pioneered premium winemaking in California. A tireless and passionate devotee of California wine, The Count imported hundreds of premium vines from Europe, dug Sonoma’s first wine caves, introduced innovative viticulture techniques, and wrote the first treatise on California wine. Buena Vista Winery honors his legacy, bold vision, and commitment to excellence through this red wine. 

Tasting Notes

.Enticing aromas of mocha, baking spices and blackberry jump from the glass.


Dark fruit flavors coat the palate with notes of baker’s chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla. Well-balanced and structured,this red wine hasgood acidity with a savory and lingering finish. 

Vintage Notes: 

The Count's intriguing blend of varietals intermingles seamlessly to produce an elegant and complex wine. Individual lots were fermented separately in open and closed-top fermenters and aged for 16 months in a combination of oak and stainless steel before final assemblage and bottling.
