Russian River Valley, Sonoma County

French Colombard
Description

The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society was formed in 1863 by the winery’s founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy, to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards. The Vinicultural Society has been restored as a collection of unique small-production wines that honor the winery’s pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking. The collection of wines explores clonal selections, varietals and the incredible terroir of Northern California.

Tasting Notes
Aroma:

Our 2019 French Colombard from the Russian River Valley opens with a bouquet of aromas of lemon grass, tangerine, and kaffir lime.

Palate:

On the palate this wine begins with bright citrus and on the mid palate it opens up with notes of tangerine and honeysuckle. This is a medium bodied wine with layers that will continue to evolve in your glass.

Winemaking
Vintage Notes:

Harvested on October 5, the grapes were sourced from the Ricioli vineyard, west of Fulton, in the Russian River Valley. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed with native fermentation and the lees were stirred occasionally to lend creaminess to the mid palate.
