Les Valozières Premier Cru
-
Description
The Aloxe-Corton appellation spreads over 294 acres on the Aloxe-Corton town and 21 acres on the Ladoix-Serrigny village, at the beginning of the Côte de Beaune. Half of the vineyard is classified Grand Cru and no less than 17 climates are classified Premier Cru. We can distinguish two types of Premier Cru: one located on the Pernand-Vergelesses side and the other, on the "Les Valozières", side of the Grands Crus. The sun exposure is perfect on the eastern side, and the soil is complex which gives the wine structure and power.
Please note that this is an imported wine and cannot legally be shipped to GA, IA, IL, IN, LA, ME, MI, MO, MT, OH, SD, VA or WV
Appearance:The color is ruby red.
Aroma:The nose exudes intense aromas of red fruits and spices.
Palate:The palate, which combines roundness and delicacy, is marked by fruit.
Vintage Notes:Abundance and excellence! After a winter that was almost too mild, the vintage was notable for two contrasting periods. Spring was sunny and totally devoid of frost, despite some localized episodes of hail, which had major impact on certain plots on the Côte
de Nuits, which were hit in June. Then the summer was dry and hot, blocking the ripening process in places. Picking began early, with exceptionally abundant fruit in tip-top condition, offering the potential for some very fine wines. Ageing potential: from 7 to 10 years.- Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir
