Brut, Champagne - Past • Present • Future After initial separate fermentation, the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were blended to highlight elegant flavors and subtle oak notes. Grape Variety: 50% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir. Region: Champagne – Grand cru Chardonnay vineyards, 1er Cru Pinot Noir Vineyards.

Tasting Notes
Appearance: 

Golden in color.

Aroma: 

Complex aromas of toasted oak and vanilla, which is followed by notes of figs and apricots, and eventually reveals notes of hazelnut.

Palate: 

On the palate, this wine is lively and full bodied. It is well-balanced, and has a harmonious, elegant finish.

Winemaking
Vintage Notes: 

The 2008 growing season in Champagne started with some challenges, but a dry August and warm September resulted in an even, slow maturation of the grapes, leading to an excellent harvest!

Winemaking Notes:

  • Chardonnay is fermented once in second use Burgundy oak barrels.
  • Pinot Noir is fermented in stainless steel.
