Central Coast

The stunning Central Coast of California offers warm days with a strong marine influence that brings cool nights and a long growing season. Varied topography and remarkably diverse terrior infuse the unique nature of the Central Coast into our awe-inspiring Lockwood wines. Grapes are selected only from specific, vigilantly maintained, and thoroughly analyzed blocks across the expansive Central Coast. After defining our blocks, we implement viticultural protocols tailored to suit each vine’s set of unique characteristics. Pruning strategies, shoot thinning practices, leaf removal techniques, and specified crop levels are assigned to optimize quality and we selectively harvest each block.

Tasting Notes

Gold and vibrant in the glass.

This well-structured wine opens with a bouquet of floral and fresh green apple notes.

Elegant flavors of honeysuckle and peach are beautifully complimented by balanced minerality and crisp acidity, leaving a long and refreshing finish.

Vintage Notes:

The 2018 vintage was a near picture-perfect growing season that began in late February followed by a mild Spring yielding uniform grape clusters. Temperatures remained moderate to cool throughout the season with 2018 being considered one of the coolest vintages of the past decade. The cooler temperatures allowed for a longer hangtime resulting in an even and temperate harvest.
