Vintage Notes:
The 2016 vintage across California was a near-perfect growing season. A mild winter and spring led to a steady mild July and August, followed by warm days at the end of the season for the perfect ripeness. With warm days and cool nights in the summer, grape growers were able to maintain ideal acid levels with balanced, concentrated fruit flavors. We sourced Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from prominent Napa Valley appellations: Rutherford, Calistoga, Diamond Mountain and St. Helena to craft this delicious wine, with just a splash from Oak Knoll. The fruit from Rutherford and Diamond Mountain adds structure to the wine while the fruit from Calistoga and St. Helena grapes add plushness, freshness and intensity. The grapes were fermented on skins for an average of 57 days and aged in French Oak barrels, 38% new, for 19 months.
