Alexander Valley
-
Description
The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society, formed in 1863 by the winery's founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy, to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards, has been restored as a collection of unique, small-production wines that honor the winery's pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking. These Curated Collections are small-lot wines chosen by Jean-Charles Boisset exclusively for the Boisset Ambassador Program. Available for a limited time, each wine is crafted by our winemakers to deliver the highest quality for the price. This limited-edition wine has been hand-selected by Jean-Charles Boisset to capture the style and excellence of the Boisset Collection's portfolio of premium wineries.
Aroma:This charming red wine opens up with lively aromas of fresh berries, gingerbread, and cinnamon.
Palate:Flavors of juicy cherry, boysenberry, light black pepper and hints of vanilla graham cracker dance on the palate. A robust mouthfeel is complimented with velvety tannins that lead to a long, lingering finish.
Vintage Notes:The grapes for this lovely Zinfandel come from the formidable Alexander Valley, where warm days and cool nights allow for rich flavor development and maturation. Alexander Valley is one of the largest and most abundantly planted wine regions in Sonoma County and it produces rich, plump wines due to the area's warm climate. After harvest, our 2016 Alexander Valley Zinfandel aged for 11 months in 100% French oak barrels (5% new oak).
