Chateau Buena Vista

Red Wine

The self-proclaimed Count, and our founder, Agoston Haraszthy, understood that great wine comes not only from great grapes, but also from great places. In the 1860’s Buena Vista covered more than 6,000 acres reaching from the southernmost part of Sonoma Valley into Napa County. Both regions offer a unique terroir – the magical combination of all the attributes required to create outstanding wines of a particular site – from the soil, to the climate, to the site’s exposure to the sun, to the vine itself.

Tasting Notes

A bouquet of dark fruit aromas, black currants and cinnamon greet the nose.

Flavors of black cherry, plum and baking spice are complemented by a kiss of oak. This is a rich and structured wine with fine-grained tannins, balanced acidity and a savory finish.

Vintage Notes:

The debut of our 2018 Proprietary Red Wine upholds the legacy of our illustrious founder with a blend of grapes from both Napa and Sonoma. The Cabernet Sauvignon is harvested from valley floor vineyards within Napa Valley while the Merlot grapes are from the northern reaches of Sonoma.
