FAQs

 

  • How do we get the wines for the Retreat tastings? Will there be a VIP ticket option this year?

    Registration is being structured differently this year, compared to the ticket package options available in for past virtual events. All 2022 Retreat attendees must first separately register to secure their access to the event. This purchase provides your digital access to the event only; it is shipment-free and does not include wine, swag or printed materials. Separate optional upgrade packages will be made available soon, which will consist of shipments that include the wines for the educational tastings and social events, as well as Retreat swag and support materials. These packages will only be offered to registered Retreat attendees and will include a luxurious VIP option.

  • What digital platform will be used for this virtual Ambassador Retreat?

    We will be using Whova as our virtual event platform, which is the most loved event app with top reviews from event organizers and attendees alike. This amazing platform allows us to integrate all of our content and networking in one convenient place, with great social functionality available for users and streamlined notifications - everything you need all in one place! The Whova event platform will also serve as your portal for accessing recorded trainings and other resources after the event.

    Those who register for Ambassador Retreat will receive an invitation from Whova when our event portal goes live, approximately 6 weeks before the event takes place. Once you have created your Whova account, you will be able to access the platform's amazing features, including a detailed agenda, speaker bios and intuitive social networking functionality for connecting with other Retreat attendees. You can ask questions of the organizers, suggest topics of interest, plan meet-ups and more as we all get psyched for Retreat in the lead up, and attendees will be able to continue accessing Whova functions for months after the event, to follow-up with contacts or organize discussion groups! 

  • Are there technological requirements for participation in this virtual Ambassador Retreat?

    Participants are responsible for their own technological requirements and will mainly need a stable internet connection to participate in Retreat. The Retreat & Events Committee will host a Get Tech-Ready Happy Hour the week before Retreat to provide tech tips, best practices and ideas for improving your virtual event experience.

    Please note that the Whova event platform works best using Chrome or Firefox browers so we recommend installing one of these programs on your device and using it for the event. Safari is typically the least stable browser option and non recommended. We also recommend downloading the free Whova mobile app in order to access more networking features and receive text reminders and announcements during the conference. 

  • I am not an Ambassador yet, but am thinking about joining. Can I attend Retreat to see if it's right for me?

    No. Only Boisset Ambassadors are eligible to register for Ambassador Retreat. However, new Ambassadors who enroll in the month of January will get half off their Enrollment Package so now is a great time to sign up! We strongly recommend that new Ambassadors attend our semi-annual training events since it's a great way to energize your business. All Enrollment Packages include the first 90 days of your Cellar Suite subscription, which Ambassadors can always cancel at any time.

  • When will complete details be available on the final agenda and optional wine packages?

    We are in the process of finalizing the Retreat agenda and speaker list as well as the line-up of wines for our educational wine tastings and social events. We expect to have both the Whova event pages and the optional wine upgrade packages ready to go live no later than 6 weeks prior to the event date in order to provide plenty of lead time for shipping and advance engagement through the platform.

  • What is the deadline for Ambassador Retreat registration?

    Registration for our 2022 Ambassador Retreat will remain open through Thursday, March 18th in terms of the digital-only event and platform access included with the purchase of Retreat registration. However, Ambassadors who want to participate in wine education or social tastings will need to register earlier in order to access the optional upgrade packages that include wine. We will publish "purchase by" recommendations when these packages are released quoting the necessary lead time to receive in time via Ground Shipping, but will also keep them available in the week prior to Retreat for those considering expedited shipping or self-pickup options. 

  • I am new and this will be my first training event. Will there be any kind of orientation provided for newbies?

    Yes, we will host a "First-Timer's Meet & Greet" at 8am PT, one hour before the main event kicks off on Saturday March 19th. This optional event provides a forum for new Ambassadors to meet Boisset Collection's home office team, as well as our top "Leaders", who are our most successful Ambassadors in the field from across the country. Plan to attend - it will help you put names to faces and to provide a high-level overview of what to expect from the Ambassador Retreat experience!

  • If I'm participating in Retreat alone, won't all the wines I open be wasted? Is there a way to preserve the remainders?

    Sparkling wines will lose their sparkle fairly quickly, so those will need to be consumed once opened, but it's easy to preserve other wines to enjoy later at your convenience. Simply put the cork back in the bottle and pop it in your freezer! You'll want to make sure the wine inside is not touching the cork or screwcap and a fine sediment will likely form when the bottle is thawed. But freezing is by far the best method for preserving wine once its cork has been removed and frozen wines will taste just as good whether you with to thaw them for a day, a week, a month or a year!

  • Can more than one Ambassador share a single registration?

    No. In order to access all Retreat content, recognition and perks, every Ambassador must register individually for Retreat (with the sole exception of two-person teams who operate under a single Ambassador account).

    In regions where public heath guidelines permit it, Ambassador teams may gather to participate in groups and organize their registration and wine package purchases accordingly. However, bear in mind that some sessions and some platform functionality will require each participant to be connected on their own device, so be mindful of this in planning. For example, if 3 Ambassadors were to gather to experience Retreat from one person's home, those who are guests will need to connect on a mobile device to participate in some activities and may need to relocate themselves to an area where audio feedback from other connected devices will not be audible in order to experience full functionality.

  • I plan to participate but don't wish to appear on camera. What can I do?

    Ambassadors are not required to stream their video in order to participate so simply do not activate your webcam if you do not want your likeness to be shared, recorded or retained. As with all Boisset Collection virtual training events, Ambassador Retreat 2022 will be recorded and photographed. Boisset Collection reserves the right to use images and recordings obtained at such training events in future marketing and promotion efforts.

  • Will I be able to cancel my Retreat registration or transfer to another Ambassador? Can optional wine packages be returned?

    Cancellation requests for Retreat Registration purchases must be received on or before 3/10 to be considered for returns and credits. Registration is unique to your email address and transfers from one Ambassador to another are not permitted. The optional add-on packages with wines and swag can be cancelled at no additional cost if the order has not shipped, otherwise will be cancelled less the cost of shipping as detailed out in Shipping & Returns.

  • Can I record the Ambassador Retreat sessions to share with my team or prospective Ambassadors?

    Ambassadors are prohibited from recording or broadcasting any portion of our virtual event themselves using their own devices and are not to share Retreat content with anyone who was not a registered attendee. However, registered Ambassadors will have access to all Retreat content, including session recordings, support materials, chat threads and Q&As through the WHova platform after the event.
