2018
Russian River Valley
-
Description
Our Russian River Valley Zinfandel is predominantly harvested from the younger vines of the BCD Vineyard and the Slusser Vineyard, with smaller amounts of older vine Zinfandel from the Saitone and Boschetti ranches, all of which are certified Sonoma Sustainable.
Aroma:Baked plum, blackberry and boysenberry aromas waft from the glass in this 2018 Russian River Valley Zinfandel.
Palate:Lively notes of black cherry, toasted peaches and violets grace the palate and are complemented with a hint of pepper. This is a beautiful wine with balanced acidity and great structure that leads to lingering finish.
Vintage Notes:The 2018 growing season started off with cooler temperatures which was followed by a moderate summer with fewer heat spikes than normal. Fruit set was consistent and with the milder weather, harvest began a few weeks later compared to the last few years. This longer and near-perfect growing season has resulted in structured and concentrated wines.
