2017
Central Coast

Chardonnay
Description

The grapes grown for Lockwood Vineyard wines are selected only from specific, vigilantly maintained, and thoroughly analyzed blocks across the expansive Central Coast. By thoroughly examining each micro-climate, and corresponding soil profile, then evaluating various combinations of varietals, clonal selections and rootstocks, we are able to choose the best plantings in the vineyard.

Tasting Notes
Appearance:

A beautiful golden color in the glass.

Aroma:

Delightful aromatics of delicate white flowers, fresh green apple and notes of caramel.

Palate:

Clean flavors of apricot and pear are balanced by hint of key lime and lively mineral notes. With a creamy texture and supple mouthfeel, the crisp acidity carries through leading to a long finish.

Winemaking
Vintage Notes:

The 2017 vintage was grown across the Central Coast, one of the most diverse and climatically cool grape growing regions in California. A wet winter was followed by a steady spring and cool August temperatures before a heat spike in early September. The long and even growing season created near perfect growing conditions in 2017 resulting in balanced acid and concentrated flavors.
