Our Finest Selection, O.F.S.

Pinot Noir
SKU: DLPNOF2072

Sensous soft easy-drinking reds are ripe & fruity, but not tart or tannic. They are thoroughly modern “crowd-pleasers” that do not need food to taste their best, and some are not fully dry.

FOOD PAIRING: These fruity reds can handle sugar and spice better than more classic reds, so they are perfect for ASIAN CUISINE, COMFORT FOODS, BRUNCH DISHES plus casual fare like BURGERS & BBQ.

Description

At DeLoach Vineyards we strive to produce distinctive wines that highlight unique terroirs in a socially and environmentally responsible way, practicing sustainable viticulture and minimally intrusive winemaking. The fruit for this Pinot Noir was grown in a cool climate, allowing the grapes to ripen over an extended season to develop concentrated flavors. We selected fruit from some of the finest vineyards in the Russian River Valley, including our own Estate Vineyard, Starkey Vineyard and BCD Vineyard.

Tasting Notes
Aroma:

Intense aromas of baking spice, red currants, and a touch of floral from the glass in this 2020 Pinot Noir.

Palate:

Bing cherry and raspberry flavors are emphasized with notes of mushroom and eucalyptus. This is a bright and crisp wine with a refreshing fruit-forward finish that is long and lingering.

Winemaking
Vintage Notes:

After the grapes for this O.F.S. Pinot Noir were hand-harvested and cluster sorted between August 25 - September 10, they were open top fermented with native yeasts. The wine was gently basket-pressed and aged in 32% new French oak barrels for 6 months prior to bottling. Each lot was individually fermented and aged before the winemaker tasted through to craft the finest blend.
