I have enjoyed learning about wine since the early 1980s.  In college, at Texas Tech University I had the pleasure of being taught by Clara McPherson in the Dietetics Department.  Her husband, "Doc" McPherson, a Chemistry professor, was a pioneer of the Texas Wine Industry.  In those days, Llano Estacado was the first winery in West Texas and their Blush wine was a favorite at get-togethers all across Lubbock and the entire state.  This is when I learned different grapes were used to make different wine and that the French wine producers owed Texas a great deal of gratitude for saving their vines (Texas rootstocks were resistant to phylloxera).

My interest grew as I discovered that WINE is an ART created by SCIENCE.

The science in the vineyard of measuring BRIX to know when to harvest the grapes.  The science of fermentation (yeast + sugar = alcohol) and the timing of skins in contact with the juice for the color formation and tannin development.  The science of which kind of barrel to use for aging.  It can all be explained with science and I learned I really enjoyed Organic Chemistry!

BUT, the ARTIST (Wine Maker) creates the wine which is why wines from the same area can taste very different and gives us so much variety.

And wine is CULTURE--the culture of an area is best experienced through its food and its wine (or other local beverage).  One of my favorite activities, when we visit a new city or country, is to take a "culinary tour" and taste our way through favorite dishes.

I am excited to be able to bring the pleasure of wine to you DIRECTLY through the Boisset Collection.  I was first introduced to Boisset in 2014 and in 2015 I was able to visit both Raymond Vineyards and DeLoach Winery in California.  Each of the properties owned by Boisset has a unique story and history and the wines reflect their uniqueness.  Please check out the tab About>Wineries to learn more.

The Boisset Collection offers a Wine Society membership with no enrollment fee and multiple options for the number of wine bottles to receive.  Members also receive discounts on wines and other products as well as free or reduced shipping costs.   Also, the Custom Wine Labels are great for Corporate Gifts and Client Appreciation as well as gifts for Weddings, Graduations, and other celebrations.

You can experience the wines with me at in-home tastings (when allowed to gather again) and by participating in my Wine On Wednesday events which will be starting soon.

If you’re interested in booking a Boisset wine tasting or learning more about the Boisset opportunity, please fill out the form below and you’ll be contacted by your Wine Ambassador.
