2017
Be Merry Holiday Label North Coast

Description

This beautiful wine is a blend of three vineyards in the north coast with the majority of the fruit harvested from the prestigious Red Hills appellation of Lake County which is located on the northern edge of the Mayacamas Range. With elevations ranging from 1,350 to 2,600 feet, the grapes are grown in mountain climate conditions allowing for good acid retention during ripening. The wine was fermented in small stainless-steel tanks and pressed off at dryness capturing the freshness and vibrancy of the wine.

Tasting Notes
Aroma:

This wine opens with enticing blackberry aromas with notes of black tea and tobacco.

Palate:

Rich flavors of black cherry and plum are balanced with earthy characteristics. This is a soft, well-balanced and approachable wine with a plush mid-palate and a lingering finish.

Winemaking
Vintage Notes:

The 2017 vintage was marked by extreme conditions that reduced crop size, starting with abundant winter rainfall and mild spring weather, which led to vigorous vines. The growing season saw three heat spikes, including one over Labor Day weekend that kicked harvest into high gear.
