2013 Santa Lucia

Pinot Noir
Description

The vineyard this wine was sourced from is planted on a terrace of the Santa Lucia mountain range, overlooking the Salinas River Valley with north-south facing rows. This cool climate Pinot Noir benefits from 1000 ft. elevation, allowing for morning sunshine to warm the vines and afternoon maritime winds to lengthen the ripening process and reinforce the bright acidity of the fruit.

Tasting Notes
Aroma:

Opens elegantly with bright aromas of strawberry and Bing cherry that lead to light notes of violet.

Palate:

Luscious flavors of raspberry, cardamom spice and a kiss of oak culminate with a well-structured and deliciously long finish that sails across the palate.

Winemaking
Vintage Notes:

The 2013 vintage across the Central Coast was an ideal growing season with the perfect conditions for bloom and fruit set. A dry winter led to a mild spring and cool summer. The extra summer fog and cloud cover allowed for an extended growing season resulting in excellent flavor concentration, good acidity, and structure.
