Description

This limited production wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and the fruit was hand-harvested between September 23 and 24. Grapes were fermented on the skins and underwent extended maceration for an average of 38 days to lend complexity and depth to the wine before being racked to new, tight-grained, medium and medium-plus toast French oak barrels for 19 months of aging. Only our best barrels from Ermitage and Saury were selected for this wine.

Winemaking
Vintage Notes:

The grapes for this 2020 Generations Cabernet Sauvignon were grown in three vineyards in Napa Valley. Two vineyards in the St. Helena appellation consist of mature vines and a lower water table. This, in addition to a Labor Day heat wave provided for an early harvest and combined to produce smaller yields but more concentrated grapes delivering richness and power to the wine. The third vineyard, located in a prestigious area of east Oakville also saw an early harvest resulting in beautiful fruit that added a nice suppleness to the palate oering a good balance between the two appellations. By blending grapes from these renowned vineyards and appellations, we can make a wine that truly represents the best of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and honors our five generations of making wine in the Napa Valley.
