Private Reserve

Zinfandel
Description

The Private Reserve wines are the ultimate wines within the portfolio, limited in production, sourced from the finest vineyards in Sonoma County, from appellations best suited for a specific varietal given the dramatic diversity in climatic and soil conditions across the County.

Tasting Notes
Aroma:

Our 2016 Private Reserve Zinfandel opens with enticing aromatic notes of plum skin and rhubarb with savory notes of dried herbs.

Palate:

Bright flavors of raspberries, and boysenberry are balanced with sassafras and a touch of vanilla upon the finish. Medium bodied with fine grain tannins and a spreading finish, this Zinfandel is immediately enjoyable, but will also age gracefully over the next 6-8 years.

Winemaking
Vintage Notes:

The Private Reserve Zinfandel was sourced from the warmer portion of Sonoma Valley where the afternoons reach high temperatures during the growing season for extended periods of time and result in a wine with juicy, rich flavors. The grapes for our 2016 vintage come from 30 year old vines on the property adjacent to Buena Vista and part of Count Haraszthy's original winery.
