2019
Petaluma Gap

Riesling
Description

The fruit for our Riesling is from the Corda Vineyard in Chileno Valley, which sits 10 miles inland from Tomales Bay in an amphitheater of hills in the Petaluma Gap. The vineyard is
cooled by winds of the Pacific Ocean, leading to longer ripening time and brighter acidity in the grapes. The site is dry farmed and slopes to the northeast, with vineyard rows running along the contours of the hillside.

Tasting Notes
Aroma:

The 2019 Petaluma Gap Riesling jumps from the glass with aromas of white peach, fresh pineapple, and ginger spice.

Palate:

On the palate the wine is bursting with flavors of apricot, pear, and wet stone. This wine is beautifully balanced with bright acidity and subtle minerality with a mouthwatering finish.

Winemaking
Vintage Notes:

The grapes were harvested on October 25, 2019. With this vintage being such a mild year the fruit was able to have extended hang time to develop beautiful complexity and depth. In order to preserve the brightness and freshness of the flavors of the grapes, as well give the wine a mineral-driven profile, Winemaker Brian Maloney chose a concrete egg for fermentation and then the wine was transferred to stainless steel tanks for four months before bottling.
