Raymond Vineyard’s Sommelier Selection Cabernet Sauvignon is selected and blended by a group of influential sommeliers from the finest restaurants and inspired by the rich history of our world-renowned winegrowing region.
This blend is comprised of fruit from three unique appellations: Napa Valley, Sonoma County, and Lake County. The Cabernet Sauvignon in this blend comes from a single vineyard in the Red Hills in Lake County and two vineyards from St. Helena in Napa Valley. Napa Valley is the backbone of the blend, with its terroir providing the fullest expression of concentrated, dark red fruits and integrated tannins. The Merlot in this blend comes from Dry Creek in Sonoma County, where the fog influence allows the fruit to fully ripen while maintaining bright, balanced acidity and low alcohol levels. The Cabernet Franc hails from one vineyard in St. Helena and one vineyard in Sonoma, both of which add to the intense, juicy flavors and velvety structure of the wine.

Tasting Notes
Aroma: 

The 2017 Sommelier Selection Cabernet Sauvignon has inviting aromas of cherry and plum with floral undertones.

Palate: 

This is a lush wine offering flavors of raspberry, black currant, nutmeg and a sweet cocoa characteristic that is complimented by white pepper. An elegant mouthfeel with a juicy finish, this is a bold Cabernet Sauvignon that pairs nicely with a number of hearty dishes.

Winemaking
Vintage Notes: 

The 2017 vintage was marked by extreme conditions that reduced crop size, starting with abundant winter rainfall and mild spring weather, which led to vigorous vines. The growing season saw three heat spikes, including one over Labor Day weekend that kicked harvest into high gear.
